Kranz 2017 Kirchberg Riesling Grand Cru dry

Regular price £42.95

Site: Kirchberg is the heart of the "Kleine Kalmit". The "Kleine Kalmit" is a little hill (272m) that was formed during the Tertiary and the sinking of the Upper Rhine Rift. The area around the Kleine Kalmit Hill in the Palatinate is called the classical square mile of geology, because it consists of a unique combination of rock. The soil is extremely calcareous. The Kirchberg is exposed to the southwest and it is a very old terraced vineyard. In this vineyard we do almost all work by hand.

Wine: Clear, juicy fruit, fresh acidity, compact salty, fine minerality, cool smokiness and great potential.

Vinification: Gentle processing of the grapes, fermentation in "Halbstückfass" (6001 wooden barrels). Long yeast storage.

Food pairing recommendations: Seafood in all variation, especially good with oysters or scallops, grilled poultry.

Alcohol: 13,0% vol.
Res. sugar: 7,3 g/l
Acidity: 7,2 g/l
