Dr Heger
In 1992, Max’s son Wolfgang (known as Mimus) handed the estate down to his son Joachim. He has expanded the business, launching a new label - Weinhaus Joachim Heger – producing lighter, everyday wines. Meanwhile, the Dr. Heger estate continues to produce premium, elegant wines known for their structure, longevity and complexity.
This is another of Germany’s great wine producing families, started in 1935 by Dr Max Heger, a country doctor who turned to wine making. The estate is now run by Joachim Heger with his wife Silvia. He continues the rigorous attention to quality of his father and grandfather and successfully combines it with modern technology, a great enthusiasm and a determination to produce the very best wines.
