Schloss Reinhartshausen - Vines of the River Rhine

For more than 680 years, Schloss Reinhartshausen has been a part of Rheingau wine culture. Established in 1337, the family run winery on the Rhine river is renowned for its organic, award-winning Riesling.  Mariannenaue, an island in the River Rhine, is a European nature reserve, and since 2015, a protected designation of origin for quality wine. The mighty Rhine formed the island of Mariannenaue about 10,000 years ago on a bed of limestone rocks made of sand and gravel washed up from the Alps. Its location, in the middle of the River Rhine, creates a special micro climate.
