Site: Kirchberg is the heart of the "Kleine Kalmit". The "Kleime Kalmit" is a little hill (272m) that was formed during the Tertiary and the sinking of the Upper Rhine Rift. The area around the Kleine Kalmit Hill is the Palatinate is called the classical square mile of geology, because it consists of a unique combination of rocks. The soil is extremely calcareous. The Kirchberg is exposed to be southwest and it is a very old terraced vineyard. In the vineyard they so almost all work by hand.

Wine: Minerally elegant Rielsing, juicy fruit, characteristic acid structure, long finish on the palate, highly aromatic, fine saltiness.

Vinification: After the elective hand-picking, the grapes are sorted again in the winery and precessed very gently to obtain the best possible finesse, freshness and tension. The grapes are only lightly crushed. Without maceration, the grapes are pressed, lightly pre-clarified and fermented with natural yeast. Maturation in wood barrels.

Storage: More then 10 years.

Food recommendation: Seafood in all variations, especially good with oysters or scallops, poularde from the oven.
