"Mossy, dusty notes with a touch of cumin, gorse, sweet lemon and ripe apples. The wine pixelates in the mouth, first becoming more crystalline in complexity, then swirling into a softer blur of melon and mushrooms. Then this extra ordinarity mouth-watering finish. The acidity floods in at the end, triangular and bottle-glass green. Greengage and kiwi. Really builds after a soft tentative start. Great finish! Mouth-filling." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 17 points
The grapes are grown on stony soil, steep the exposition is strictly sough, the vineyard is steep 30-50%. The ground is covered with graces of red quartzite slate.
The age of the vineyard is more the 35 years and yield is not more then 0,5l/square meter, one single vine stands for one bottle. The grapes which are totally ripe green berries with red cheeks were harvested in the second week of October. The wine was fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel and matured in huge wooden casks made of nearly Hunstrück oak. The output was 200 bottles.
The wine shows a solid aroma od white currant with a long lasting aromatic aftertaste with a little imagination you can even taste the Hunsrück oak wood.
