Tasting notes: A fine, ripe and unobtrusive bouquet of preserved wild strawberries and red cherry compote. Lean and lively on the palate. Full bodied and complex, yet filigree, easy drinking and with a very discreet tannin. Slightly smoky aroma of dried berries in the finish.
Character: The red wines of they Estate are mash fermented in the traditional method that is also common in Burgundy, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in big wooden casks. Combined. with hand harvesting and intense vineyard management, this very processing leads to age worthy wines.
Food recommendation: The Spätburgunder goes well with hearty meat dishes. Also very good with many types of game dishes, savoury Mediterranean fare and various types of cheeses.
Maturity: The Spa4tburgunder is ready to drink now but gain additional harmony and elegance.
