Regular price £26.90

A clear ruby red wine, Becker's Schweigener Spätburgunder is juicy and elegant on the palate. It has length and an excellent structure. It has aromas of blackberries, tobacco, plums and spices, with vanilla notes.

The vineyard where these Spätburgunder grapes were grown is located in Schweigen near the German/French border. The old vines were grown in the limestone soil there and are between 26 and 51 years old.

The grapes were carefully selected by hand, de-stemmed and fermented separately from the mash. After two to three weeks fermentation in open oak casks, the grapes were gently pressed. The wine matured for 16 months in small oak barrels. This Spätburgunder was bottled without filtration.
