The Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) grape variety is perfectly suited to the rare limestone soil around Schweigen. The vines are 13 to 35 years old and grow very low yields.
The grapes were carefully selected by hand, destemmed and fermented separately on the mash. After 2 to 3 weeks of fermentation in open oak barrels called "Cuves", the grapes were pressed gently and put into barrels made from the finest German and French oak. 40% used barrels and 60% new ones. The further maturation took place for 16 months in small oak barrels. Bottling without filtration and fining of the wine.

Becker's 2012 Spätburgunder B dry wine is a pleasant, clear ruby red.
On the nose, it has scents of wild berries, tobacco, spices and forest soil.
It is juicy on the palate, elegant with good length and structure.
