The Schwarzer Adler is situated in the picturesque Kaiserstuhl. Once a volcano, the soil now delivers ideal conditions for the mainly burgundy grapes. A family estate of 100 acres, Fritz Keller balances the best wine-making traditions while applying modern vinification methods. The results are fresh, fruity wines which are naturally fermented, rich in extracts and totally delicious. Fritz Keller also runs the famous Schwarzer Adler Restaurant which has been holding a Michelin Star for decades and a small luxury hotel under the same name which is part of SLH. Franz Keller Schwarzer Adler was awarded ‘Best Red wine collection’ by the renowned wine guide “Eichelmann 2010” and The Diners Club magazine decorated Fritz Keller as the “winemaker of the year”.
